Stargate is one of my favourite TV shows, both because of it's use of mythology/ancient history and the science fiction element. As most people now know, the-powers-that-be decided not to continue SG-1 but to continue Atlantis. This decision was made public a month or two ago so I hope you all know it by now (and I'm not going to mention what I said about SG-1 writers/producers the week before it was cancelled, as I feel bad about saying it now). Anyway, the point is, there has now been an announcement that they will be tying up the Orii storyline in two direct to DVD movies once Season 10 has wrapped. Now this excellent news, this means though that the Orii storyline will end in a cliffhanger at the end of the current season and will drag on until the end of the first movie - I hope they do this right.
"It's the climax of the Ori story line," Wright said of the first film. The movie will tie up the loose ends from the show's tenth season, which is expected to conclude its U.S. television run in June. The film will be written and directed by current SG-1 executive producer and show-runner Robert C. Cooper.
The SG-1 cast is not signed for the movies yet, but are said to be "very eager" to continue.
Well having the second movie involve time travel is novel, you'd never have thought they'd done that before. Now what I'm wondering is if the time travel will somehow reset everything back to how it was at the end of the original motion picture so that the rumoured Stargate sequels can take place.
