Voting for Nature?

Publicity for organisations that are trying to save the worlds species is a good thing; but not in the manor that ITV are now trying. ITV, a British TV channel, has a new program called "Extinct" to raise awareness of 8 species that are dying out and will soon be extinct - to this I say well done, something should be done and the fact that they are trying is commendable. What I totally disagree with though is the way they are going about it - they are asking the viewing public to vote for which animal to save. That is just wrong, it's not the X-Factor, or some other talent contest, we're talking about lives here. They should all be saved.

Upon further investigation, they do say that 50% of the support they receive will go to the rest - at least that's better than I first thought.

At the end of the week, the species with the most votes will receive half the total proceeds raised, whilst the remaining 50% of the funds will be split equally between projects helping the other seven animals.

The T.V program is just awful! No one can choose which animal you want to save, when they all need help. It's sick and all the veiwers who vote need to open their eyes and see why the program are having votes. If anyone of them cared they would donate money. I can imagen in some years time we will be voting on which country to save...
