Red Circle is a company I've just found out about, one that I totally disagree with. They send people text message to their phone advertising that they sell ringtones - and it costs between 1.50GBP and 2.00GBP a time each time you get a text from them containing this advert! My sister has just found this out, and has been bombarded with text's the past week. If anyone gets any of these text contact you phone service immediately! In my sisters case Orange, her phone provider told her to text them a message saying "stop" and that would stop them from sending further messages.... withing 20 minutes she had received a further two. Obviously this is something that can get out of hand quite quickly for users on contracts, though a second call to the Orange does seem to get them to take it into their own hands to cancel the "subscription" as they called it - a process that they say takes 7 days. Real question is, how do they get peoples mobile phone numbers, and how did Orange instantly know who it was sending the messages?
