Web 2.0 has been a huge buzzword for many months now, and it is something designers and developers alike are starting grow tired of. With the advent of "Web 2.0" there have been many sites spring up utilising Ajax and special effects where doing so does nothing to add to the users experience or the usability of the site.
Jason Calacanis, the CEO and co-founder of Weblogs Inc., has formerly defined what he believes to be the next step in the evolution of the web - the move to Web 3.0 and what it means.
Web 3.0 is defined as the creation of high-quality content and services produced by gifted individuals using Web 2.0 technology as an enabling platform.
It means user submitted content should be moderated, and a visible effort made to maintain the quality of the content being provided, and not just the experience being provided.
