I've said time and again how I feel about the use of OpenID - I think it is not yet secure enough to use on sites that contain important information such as on commerce sites. One thing I've also mentioned before (also in my as of yet unpublished "Implementing OpenID" article) is that it's like putting all your eggs in one basket - if hacker finds your password for your OpenID account then it's not just once site he/she will have access to.
Anyway, France Telecom have announced that Orange (European mobile phone provider) will begin supporting OpenID for Orange's 40 million customer userbase. It being the first major company to use OpenID also means that we'll likely see OpenID become far more mainstream in the coming months.
