The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown

In recent times Hollywood has taken the stance that they won't start a new film franchise unless they can at least get a trilogy out of it. A couple of months ago there was the suggestion that Dan Brown would finish writing his third Robert Langdon book this year which is obvious that the intention there is to get the story ready to be filmed as soon as possible.

Today confirmation came in the form of "The Lost Symbol", the book that has been eagerly anticipated by fans of the series. So far I've read all of Dan Brown's published books and to some degree I have enjoyed reading them. In places they have been obvious and also ridiculous yet they remain well researched to try and push back the absurdity of some of details with actual fact. It is rumoured that the third book in this series will feature a masonic symbol which will lead him and assumingly an unknown female character on the trail of the Soloman key. The key of Soloman refers to a medieval book on magic which was attributed to King Soloman, but were produced during the 14th and 15th centuries at the time of the Crusades... hence the association with the Templars, or the modern day Masonic groups.

Anyway back to the point, the book is due for release in the US on September 15th 2009 and looks to have an RRP of around £18.99 according to Waterstones and Amazon UK (which also suggest UK release date will be same day).

Only other details I know of at this point is that it is supposedly set during a 12-hour period.
