In a surprising move, the UK government has announced that any of it's sites that are not to at least Double-A standard will have it's domain name taken away. This is a major undertaking that could well mean that many local government sites may disappear off the face of the planet when this happens.
... a Southampton University study last year found that 61 per cent of Government and local council web sites did not comply with the guidelines, and it seems reasonable to expect that quite of number of sites beyond the major central Government ones still fail to make the grade.

Time for mass panic, and hopefully many more compliant sites.
