Learning the shortcut keys for a program is always a time saver - especially when it comes to a the schedule of a busy developer or designer. So here is a list of the most used shortcuts for Adobe Flash - also available for download as a PDF.
Basic shortcuts
- Ctrl-F3 - Show / hide "properties" panel
- F4 - Hide panels
- F9 - Show / hide "actions" panel
- Ctrl-Enter - Test the movie
- Ctrl-Shift-Enter - Debug the movie
- M - Select magnifier tool
- Ctrl-P - Show the preferences menu
- Ctrl-Alt-Shift-S - Export the movie
- T - Select text tool
- V - Select arrow tool
Editing the movie
- F5 - Add a new frame
- Shift-F5 - Delete a frame
- Alt-Delete - Clears the frame(s)
- Ctrl-Shift-' - Snap to grid
- Ctrl-Shift-; - Snap to guidelines
- Ctrl-Alt-C - Copy frame(s)
- Ctrl-D - Duplicate
- Ctrl-Shift-F - Auto formats the script
- Ctrl-R - Import to stage
- Ctrl-T - Check the syntax of the script
- Ctrl-Alt-V - Paste frame(s) from the clipboard
- Ctrl-Alt-X - Cut frame(s)
